Sweet Like ... at King Georg
I like King Georg. It's a cool jazz bar near Ebertplatz, but even cool places have their off days. I went there last Saturday, this time it wasn't so great.
I arrive alone, got myself a beer and then asked people who follow English Cologne on Twitter if they could guess the location from a photo from the bar.

I'd been told that the night "NOW MY LIFE IS SWEET LIKE CINNAMON", which I think is a regular night was danceable jazz. It turned out that this gig at least was an "innovative independent electronic cosmic horror night".
The gig started at nine, I got there shortly before. It might have been more to do with me, I wasn't in the best frame of mind, but the night went pretty much over my head from the outset. It included spoken sections with accompanying overhead projection live animation.
And long musical parts which I just didn't get.
This hasn't put me off King Georg. The place is usually a great place to go even if your musical tastes are a bit more mainstream.
